I work as a freelance reader, editor and dramaturg, providing support, close readings and feedback to writers at all stages of a project's development - from initial idea brainstorming and early script extracts, to full-length drafts and in-person R&D workshops. I've also worked as a script-reader and dramaturg for Talawa, Oxford Playhouse, the Royal Court Theatre, York University's MA in Theatre Making, Nouveau Riche, the BFI and other institutions. I hold an MA (Distinction) in Writing for Performance and Dramaturgy from Goldsmiths University, and have taken part in writing programmes at the Royal Court and BBC Writers Room, amongst others.
I work with play, TV and film scripts (shorts & feature-length), as well as prose, games and immersive experiences. I am a lover of stories & am therefore open to any themes and styles, including (but not limited to) work that is experimental, queer, surreal, comedic, interactive, historical and/or political. As a writer, I know how vulnerable it can be to share work in development and receive feedback, so I'm very much focused on creating a process full of care and creative rigour, tailored to the specific vision, needs, questions, timeline and preferred communication / feedback-style of the individual.
I'm happy to provide a sliding fee scale for artists and writers - at any stage in their creative journey - who are looking for support. Just get in touch below to discuss and we can see what's best for you.
